Google Mail Goes Offline

Mountain View-based Google reported Tuesday afternoon that a "majority of users" of its Google Mail service are unable to access the service. According to a note from Google, posted at 12:53:00 PM PDT, the company became "aware" of a problem which prevents the firm's users from accessing the email service. The firm did not give a timeline for fixing the issue, saying only that it would provide an update in an hour.
