NASA Connects Space Station To the Web
NASA said Friday morning that it has given astronauts aboard the International Space Station live access to the Internet and the World Wide Web, in a new upgrade to the station's software. According to NASA, the first use by astronaut T.J. Creamer of the system was to post a live update to his Twitter account. Creamer and others previously had Twitter accounts, however, those updates were manually copied from emails by ground staff. NASA said the new link will allow astronauts the ability to browse and use the Web, as well as to have direct private communications with others to ease isolation on the space station.
