Palantir Sued Over Discriminating Against Asian Software Engineers
Palo Alto-based data analytics firm Palantir Technologies has been charged by the U.S. Department of Labor, for allegedly using discriminatory hiring policies and practices against Asian job applicants. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Palantir--which is a big supplier of software and data analysis services to the U.S. Government--discriminated systematically against Asian job applicants in its hiring process and selection procedures, from January 2010 to the present, specifically discriminating against Asian applicants for software engineering based on their race. The U.S. Government said that Asian applicants were routinely eliminated in the resume screen and telephone interview phases despite being as qualified as white applicants. The U.S. Department of Labor said it has requested the cancellation of all of the company's government contracts and debarment from entering into future federal contracts if its fails to provide relief as ordered by the agency.
